Purpose and Religious Context

The Sundar Gutka (Sikh Daily Prayers) is a traditional collection of hymns prescribed by the Sikh Rehat Maryada for different times of day. Morning prayers (Amrit Vela) include the Five Banis, evening worship includes Rehras Sahib, and night prayer is Kirtan Sohila. These are considered essential for every Amritdhari Sikh.
