Tamber
The Tamber or Tanwar surname is part of the Saini caste which dominates many villages across Hoshiarpur, Nawansher, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur. Their occupation is mostly farming and agriculture and hold a strong position in the society they live in. Many of these communities have become successful, especially from their hard work they contribute in society, and many of these Saini community are NRIs.
Origin
Tanwar or Tamber are generally Rajputs. Tomar is a clan found only among Rajputs and Sainis in Northern states of India. They are also known as Tomar, Tomara, and Tuar. Some members of this clan ruled parts of north India at different points in history. They claim to be descended from the Puruvanshi lineage of Indraprashtha from the time of Mahabharata the Same lineage which is linked to King Porus who himself was a Shoorsaini/Saini of Chandravansh.
