| <b><big>Selfishness renounced by the man: <br>

| ਆਪ ਛੋਡਿ ਸਭ ਹੋਇ ਰੇਣਾ ਜਿਸ ਦੇਇ ਪਰਭ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥੩॥<br>

| One who is so blessed by the Formless Lord God renounces selfishness, and becomes the dust of all. ||3||)<br>

| THe way to remove selfishness is ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਜੈ ਸਭ ਆਪ ॥<br>

| In the Company of the Holy, one renounces all selfishness.<br>

| ਸਬਦਿ ਮੰਨਿਝ ਗਰ ਪਾਈਝ ਵਿਚਹ ਆਪ ਗਵਾਇ ॥<br>
| |
| With faith in the Shabad, the Guru is found, and selfishness is eradicated from within.<br>
| |
|
| |
|
| |
| ਗਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਗਿ ਰਹ ਵਿਚਹ ਆਪ ਗਵਾਇ ॥<br>
| |
| Remain attached to the Feet of the Guru, and eradicate selfishness from within.)<br>

| Once Selfishness gone away:<br>
| |
| ਸਾ ਧਨ ਆਪ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਗਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥<br>

| The bride eradicates her selfishness, and adorns herself with the Word of the Guru's Shabad.<br>
| |

| How selfishness cannot be removed:
| |
| ਆਪਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਹੈ ਕਹਾਝ ਬਿਨ ਗਰ ਆਪ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥<br>

| Within your conscious mind, you may say anything, but without the Guru, selfishness is not removed.<br>
| |

| |

| |
| Atitude after selfishness go away:<br>
| |
| ਆਪ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਗਾ ਚਲਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ॥<br>

| Renouncing selfishness, I fall at their feet, and walk in harmony with His Will.<br>
| |

| How can you serve your guru:<br>
| |
| ਸਤਗਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਗਾਖੜੀ ਸਿਰ ਦੀਜੈ ਆਪ ਗਵਾਇ ॥<br>

| It is very difficult to serve the True Guru. Surrender your head; give up your selfishness.<br>
| |

| How you feel after giving up the slefishness: <br>
| |
| ਆਪ ਗਇਆ ਸਖ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਲਲੈ ਸਲਲ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥<br>
| |
| Give up your selfishness, and you shall find peace; like water mingling with water, you shall merge in absorption. ||2||
