The spirit of the '''saint-soldier''' that is part of the ideal of [[Sikhism]] is again highlighted in this recent News story. On 18th of August 2006, around 5:15am, UNITED SIKHS Director Bhai Esher Singh was walking towards the his office in Ranjit Avenue to meet Jarmanjeet Singh after paying obeisance at the Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple). On his way Bhai Esher Singh heard the screams of a girl who appeared to be in distress. Bhai Eshar Singh being concerned about the state to this girl, intervened. As it transpired, he was just in time to save the girl from the unthinkable act of rape. In the process of stopping this unthinkable act, Bhai Esher Singh sustained trauma and broken bones at the hands of the perpetrators. However, with the grace of the Almighty, Bhai Esher Singh survived the incident. Sikh Girl Saved: The spirit of the saint-soldier that is part of the ideal of Sikhism is again highlighted in this recent News story. On 18th of August 2006, around 5:15am, UNITED SIKHS Director Bhai Esher Singh was walking towards the his office in Ranjit Avenue to meet Jarmanjeet Singh after paying obeisance at the Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple).
