Traditional Greetings of the Modern Day Mainstream Sikh Faith
- Sat Sri Akal- True is The Timeless Being/God,this shout of victory was given to the Sikhs by Tenth Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
- Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh-Khalsa of the Supreme Wondrous Guru, Victory of the Supreme Wondrous Guru,This salutation was used for the first time among the Sikhs by the command of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
- Akal/Akaluuh(Cry of acclaim)- The Timeless Being, it is Modern Short Form Greeting of the Nihang Singhs.
- Sri Akal Ji Sahaye- The Timeless Being/God is with Us, It was used as a national motto during the period of the First Sikh State, Sikh Confederacy, and Sikh Empire.
Sikh Greetings/Salutations/Jaikara(A Shout of Joy) During the Time of The Sikh Gurus
- Gurbar Akaal,Sat Sri Akaal- This Jaikaraa was introduced by The First Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji when they went to Mecca.
- Sat Kartar- True is the Creator/the Eternal, This was The salutation used in the days of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
- Raja Ram Sati- True is the King who is in everything, Some accounts of his Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Life, such as that by Hariji, mention other similar forms of greeting one Being this one.
- Guru Sati- True is The Supreme Guru/The Creator, In the hukamnamas or letters sent to sangats by the Gurus prior to Guru Gobind Singh’s time, this is what the opening greeting use to be. It is the inverted form of Satiguru.
- Ram Sati- True is He who is Within All/The Creator, an Iteration to Guru Sati.
