Parvarish = a Punjabi word that equates to the word nourish, and nurture - "to feed, nurse, foster, support, preserve," (i.e., as parents nourish their children).
- Nourish = "to bring up, to nurture" (a child, a feeling, etc.), from O.Fr. norriss-, stem of norrir (Fr. nourir), from L. nutrire "to feed, nurse, foster, support, preserve," from *nutri (older form of nutrix "nurse"), lit. "she who suckles,"
- (cf. Skt. (s)n(a)uti - she drips, gives milk," .
