What is Moorakh?
As per Gurbani,
Moorakh or Foolishness is trait of Mann(not Chitt). Mann is part of person, when he follow his own Hukam and started thinking that he have done something(forgetting about god), but the God is all doer. Our Mind, if follow our own constructed path we use word Mann their. Chitt is part which have direct connection with god. You can say when you are going to do something bad(mann) and the one who stops you from inside for a second, that part is Chitt. If Mann and Chitt become 1 then you attain that stage where you can do simran.
If not then you will be considered as Moorakh(Foolish) if you still not want to know about god. Mann is Moorakh if he not favour God, if he do not love God. The mann who is Anjan of God's love(have no knowledge what god is) is called Foolish(ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਕਿਉ ਤਾਹਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਾ ॥). The person who is follower of some other than god is called Moorakh. (ਸਣਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੰਨ ਅਜਾਣਾ ॥) The person who follow his Man is called Mannmat(i).
With Gurmat Knowledge you have to take guidance what you are for what you are here. This is internal knowledge and will be given by God itself. For that you have to read experiances of Bhagats and that is Guru Granth Sahib. All Bhagats, Bhatts, Gurs attained that stage of wisdom then God. You can walk on their path to attain the God. But remember start thinking like them to be one of them.
let's discuss some facts about Moorakhta from Gurbani, and how mann is related to Murkhata and how could one leave foolishness and attain god:
- The person who have Ego is Foolish, If he feels that he have done something than it is big time Stupidity, If he forget God he is big time foolish.: (ਹਮ ਕੀਆ ਹਮ ਕਰਹਗੇ ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਗਾਵਾਰ ॥ਕਰਣੈ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰ ॥ )
- Here the Mann who is Anjaan of God's love is Moorakh and such mann will speak ill of others.
ਫਿਕਾ ਬੋਲਿ ਵਿਗਚਣਾ ਸਣਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ ਅਜਾਣ ॥ ਜੋ ਤਿਸ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਭਲੇ ਹੋਰਿ ਕਿ ਕਹਣ ਵਖਾਣ ॥੩॥
- The Mann who is Foolish always inspired by Greed and he always forget god. Such mann will have negative mind and will do negative
ਝਹ ਮਨੋ ਮੂਰਖ ਲੋਭੀਆ ਲੋਭੇ ਲਗਾ ਲਭਾਨ ॥ ਸਬਦਿ ਨ ਭੀਜੈ ਸਾਕਤਾ ਦਰਮਤਿ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨ ॥
- Gurus called a person who is away from god and haven't worked to attain the supreme power is Moorakh, and Guru called himself Moorakh and seeks Sanctuary of God. That means a person who seeks sanctuary of God is so Nimarta and one who doesn't have God is Moorakh
ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਗਧ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
- The person who doesn't find god inside is Moorakh
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਰਹਮ ਨ ਚੀਨਈ ਮਨਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਗਾਵਾਰ ॥
- A Scholar is also a Moorakh, Pundit is also a Moorakh and a person is also a Moorakh if he have Ego of their study
ਪੜਿਆ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਖੀਝ ਜਿਸ ਲਬ ਲੋਭ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
Foolish to Seeker
- First Stage Moorakh when you do not know about God and after Veechar you will become Chatar Syane as trait of Gurmukh(i), Moorakh who seeks god sanctuary will away from this blot but one who doesn't will remain Fool O Fool:

ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪ ਪੜਿਆ ॥੧॥ But I am just a fool - I just chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, but haven't . ||1||
ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਆਸ ਤਮਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ I am just a fool, Lord; I place my hopes in You! ||2||
ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਛਡਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ I am just a fool - I am saved by the Lord's Name. ||3||
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਸਈਆ ॥ O my Lord, I am so foolish; save me, O my Lord God!
How can You relieve from this Blot
ਹਮ ਮਤਿ ਹੀਣ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਗਧ ਅੰਧੇ ਸਤਿਗਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਝ ॥
By following True Guru thats God's Hukam. But if Hukam Kiye man Bhanvdey then remain murakh
