Vidhata Singh Teer was born to Sardar Hira Singh Punj ( Punjabi: ਸਰਦਾਰ ਹੀਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੰਜ ) in village Ghaghrot in district Rawalpindi. Vidhata Singh Teer took initial education from his maternal uncle Giani Hira Singh Dard. He also learned poetry from his maternal uncle as well.
As Punjabi Poet
Vidhata Singh Teer is considered one of the greatest poet of Punjabi poetry. He made great contribution to Punjabi poetry, and made it very popular within population.
