Overview of jpu

  • 1. Heading. Mool Mantar ends at ...gur parshad. Being the Heading for the entire Satgurbani, no serial No has been alloted to it. It defines Thou 'the nirakar swaroop'(GOD with no physical attributes) & Thou 'the sakar swaroop' i.e. God in 'TRUE Human Form'
  • 2. Opening Shalok. Next Pad commencing with aad sach... & ending at ...Bhi sach, is an opening Shalok for Bani titled jpu. An independent Serial 1 has been alloted to this Shlok. It is the commitment of the 'Sakar Swaroop' to the 'Nirakar Swaroop', to one day(Death) blend with the 'Nirakar Swaroop' as TRUE Human Being
  • 3. jpu Bani. Next the set of 38 'Pads'(paras), serially numbered from 1 through 38, are covered under the Heading 'Jap(u)'. It is the lifelong path of the 'Sakar Swaroop' towards the 'Nirakar Swaroop'. For the 'Sakar Swaroop' every night symbolises death. At the end of the day the 'Sakar Swaroop' is expected to have reached its home after having walked these 38 Steps. this has been institutionalised in Sikh. way of life by recitation of 'Kertan Sohila'( j" Gr ker3 aaKey"........) , thanks giving prayer before sleeping(dying) of the 'Sakar swaroop' & its blending with the 'Nirakar Swaroop'.
  • 4. Concluding Shalok . Pawan guru... ...Naal. is the Shalok summing up the theme of complete Bani of 38 Paudis.A Sikh is expected to be (dead) tired after days work. So is he supposed to be just before the actual death. Nank sums up the bani saying Radient are those 'Sakar Swaroops' who die after having exausted himself working for the society as Truthfull Human Beings
  • 5 True Sikhi. there fore nothing but lifelong practice of death on daily basis.
