Muslims ban pork because jews do and their religion is based on the Book and the 'Seal's additions. The ban was over the horrible deaths that people suffered from pork parisites. noticed a long time ago as people often died of same, another reason it is said is that pigs eat pigs and pigs even eat humans who have fallen in their pins (bone and all). Apes are vegitarians.
