Changes made in edit

Gurdwara Sikh Sangat serves as the religious gathering place for Sikhs of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As the Sikh community in the North Texas area grew, a need was felt to create a congregation place for Sikhs in the Western part of the Metroplex - leading to the opening of the Gurdwara Sikh Sangat in October 2000. The Sangat of the Gurdwara Sahib has grown rapidly as the congregation members strive to realize their rich faith and culture.

Sikhs practice Sikhism, which is a relatively young religion founded in the 1400s. The religion is based on the pillar concepts of the oneness of God and equality for all.  Sikhs are numbered at about 20 million worldwide, ranking the faith as the world's fifth largest religion. Sikhs follow the teachings of their ten Gurus through their holy book and Living Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Sikhism preaches a message of devotion to God, truthful living, and goodwill to all mankind.
Formal services are held at the Gurdwara Sikh Sangat every Sunday from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm, followed by communal lunch (Langar). People from all social and religious backgrounds are welcome. Special services and events are arranged periodically.
Please see our Construction, News & Events Page for the latest events coming up at the Gurudwara, as well as pictures from the new building Groundbreaking Ceremony. Construction plans for the new building are at a full swing - please donate generously - available online as well!
