The main religion in Punjab is Sikhism. But due to the fact that most of our youth are cutting their hair and leaving Punjab, Hinduism may become the dominant religion! Wake Up Sikhs in the west!! Do parchar! Its not to late!

Main religion in the Indian Majha is Sikhi.

Tarn Taran district

Was counted in Amritsar district in the 2001 India Census because before Tarn Taran was a part of Amritsar.

Gurdaspur district

Of the total population of Gurdaspur, 2,104,011, 934,963 are Sikhs (44.44%), 996,246 are Hindus (47.35%), 148,981 are Christians (7.1%), 1,999 are Buddhists (0.09%) and 20,768 are Muslims (0.99%).

Amritsar district

Amritsar is one of the most Sikh populated districts of Punjab. Of the total population of 3,096,077, 2,383,575 are Sikhs (76.99%), 648,284 are Hindus (20.9%), 51,948 are Christians (1.7%), 1,299 are Buddhists (0.04%) and 7,171 are Muslims (0.23%).

Doaba is the only of the 3 regions of Indian Punjab that has a Hindu majority.

Hoshiarpur district

Apparently, Hoshiarpur is one of the few districts in Punjab that has a Hindu majority. According to the 2001 census, from a total population of 1,480,736, 871,923 were Hindus (58.9%), 574,862 (38.8%) were Sikhs, 15,394 were Muslims (1%), 12,726 were Christians (0.85%), 2928 were Buddhists (0.2%).

Jalandhar

Jalandhar is one of the few districts in Punjab that has a Hindu majority. According to the 2001 census, from a total population of 1,962,700, 1,158,868 were Hindus (59.05%), 740,841 (37.75%) were Sikhs, 17,308 were Muslims (0.88%), 22,106 were Christians (1.13%) and 18,749 were Buddhists (0.96%).

Kapurthala

Kapurthala is the only district in Doaba that has a Sikh majority. Out of a population of 754,521, 448,654 were Sikhs (59.46%), 286,438 were Hindus (37.96%), 6,408 were Muslims (0.85%), 4,353 were Christians (0.58%), 7,740 were Buddhists (1.03%).

Nawanshahr

Nawanshahr is one of the most Hindu populated districts of Punjab. Of the total population of 587,468, 219,856 are Sikhs (37.42%), 356,510 are Hindus (60.72%), 5,005 are Buddhists (0.85%), 619 are Christians (0.1%) and 4,057 are Muslims (0.7%).
