Major G. Carmichael Smyth

Major G. Carmichael Smyth (also Smith) was a British officer connected to the Court at Lahore in the period after the death of the Great Maharaja of the Khalsa State after Ranjit Singh's death. By signing a treaty with the British, which gave him leave to continue his aim of adding the Nortwestern territories even Kabul to his realm, he became a respected partner to the British territories across the Sutlej.
