The syntax of the image statement on SikhiWiki

The statement has 5 components in addition to the control characters. The statements starts with a double square brackets [[ and ends in two close square brackets, ]]. Each components is separated from the next by a | .

The five components are:

  • 1. File name: This is the image file name. This can be a jpg or gif file. You need to upload this file from your computer to the SikhiWiki system by using the upload option at the bottom left of the standard screen.
  • 2. Thumb: This is either thumb or frame. Thumb is the option to use. Frame only provides a frame around the picture.
  • 3. Size of displayed image: This can be anything from about 150px to 500px for most pictures. But note that the picture will never display larger than its actual size. By selecting a small value for this option, you can reduce the size of the viewing area.
  • 4. Position: This determines where the image displays on the screen. The options are right, left or center (US spelling). However, when center is selected, the text will not flow around the image. Right and left will allow text to flow around the image.
  • 5. Comment: Place here the text explaining something about the image. This will be displayed below the picture.
