Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji while coming from Samaon halted at Bhikhi for several days during his travels in the Malwa region. Desu, a local chief, who had been a follower of Sakhi Sarvar became a Sikh and served Guruji with devotion. Guruji blessed him with five arrows to be kept as memento and told him to keep his faith in Sikhism intact. It is said that as soon as Guruji left Bhikhi, Desu's wife displeased at her husband's conversion broke and burnt the arrows. According to the local belief, this brought curse onto Desu's family. His son and grandson suffered assassination at the hand of his enemies bringing an end to his lineage. Shahidi Divas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Prakash Divas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji are the main annual functions
