Gurudwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevin, (Jusampura renamed Himmatpura)

Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chevin or Gurdwara Malla Sahib is dedicated to Guru Hargobind Ji. Guru Ji who had come to the village Himmatpura, once known as Jusampura, from village Boli located about two kilometres away.

History

On hearing of Guru Ji's arrival, a large number of people gathered to get his blessings. In that congregation, villagers from nearby place named, Jusampura, came to Guru Ji and requested him to bless their village by paying a visit there. Guru Ji expressed his inability, however he told them that he would come to their village as and when possible. There after they went back but interestingly enough one of the villagers had managed to steal the saddle of Guru Ji's horse. Next day Guru Ji was told about the theft. On the following day Guru Ji went towards their village Jusampura. The villagers extended whole hearted hospitality to Guru Ji and requested forgiveness for the saddle mischief by saying that the man who had taken the saddle was mad. When Guru Ji noticed that the saddle thief had returned the saddle back without one of its Pedas (gold ring), he expressed his unhappiness over he thief's behavior.

Leaving the place Guru Ji blessed the villagers for their prosperity. Guru Ji also changed the name of the village from Jusampura to Himmatpura. Prakash Divas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Arjan Dev Ji are the major events in which people from all over join the occassion.

Accommodation: There are six rooms with limited facilities in the Gurdwara premises for pilgrims to stay.

Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevin (also called Gurdwara Malla Sahib) is situated in a village Himmatpura of District Moga of Punjab.The Gurdwara Sahib is 3 km from Canal Bridge on main Moga- Barnala road. The village is 8 km from Machike, Takhtupura and as well as from Bhadaur.
