Gurdwara Tham Sahib, Jamber
From SikhiWikiJump to navigationJump to search
Gurdwara Tham Sahib is located in Jamber Kalan at the place where Guru Arjun Dev Ji had come after leaving Beherwal. The Gurdwara is tall, beautiful and spacious with 150 acres of land attached to it. It was here that Kedara, Samdhu, Makhanda, Tulsa and Lalu became Sikhs at the feet of Guru Arjun Dev Ji in the charan amrit ceremony.
Jamber, a village of District Kasur, is located after Bhai Phero at Chhanga Manga turning on the Lahore-Multan road. Jamber Kalan and Jamber Khurd are twin villages which have grown to overlap each other. The structure of this Gurdwara Sahib is in a sorry state of disrepair. This old structure was undergoing construction at the time of partition but no other work was done afterwards.
