Bhai Labh Singh was born in 1865 (Rajasansi)

He was a freedom fighter in the 1900’s however no one has ever paid any respects to him for his sacrifice. What he did for his country and religion has never been valued or acknowledged.

The SGPC association has started acknowledging all the soldiers that were involved in this fight for religion. The families of all the soldiers have been asked to come to forward and accept a token of appreciation, as a way of paying respects to all the people that sacrificed their lives for this cause. This will be a very proud event for all families that have members that have sacrificed their lives.

Sardar Labh Singh, who killed three English men due to blasphemy against the Sikh religion; as far as Sardar Labh Singh was concerned he had sent these men to hell for this horrendous act.

Sardar Labh Singh S/O Sardar Dhaja Singh was born in 1865, Raja Sansi. Sardar Dhaja Singh was a soldier in Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s army. In 1849 when the British rule was in place then the Sikh Unit was abolished.

Since the early years of Sardar Labh Singhs life he was very committed to his religion, like his father. He learnt a lot from his father and due to this he took the oath of the holy nectar and became a true Sikh.

Once he became the age of an adult he was admitted in the Indian Army, under the rule of Britain. Whilst he was here some fellow English officers spoke badly (Sikhra) about the Sikh religion and the Sardar Labh Singh could not control his temper and attacked his colleagues. After this Sardar Labh Singh was under court martial and then he was sacked from his position in the army.

After this he started working as an Octroi Officer in Lalitpur (UP). Again whilst working here the Sikh religion was defamed and therefore Sardar Labh Singh killed both the police officers that were involved in ruining the name of Sikhism. Then a court case was started and he was sentenced to be hanged until death.

After this his mother and younger sister Basant Kaur went to a gurdwara in Shimla to work as sevadars. The reason for this was that they got information Viceroy (Lord Curzon) was en-route for his summer vacation in Shimla. In the evening time Viceroy and his wife where travelling in a horse cart and both Sardar Labh Singh’s mother and sister lay down in front of their buggy. Viceroy and his wife asked the ADC to ask the two ladies what was their problem.

Then the mother handed them a petition that was put together by Sardar Gurcharan Singh Sandhawalia stating a plea that her son should be freed. Procedure for Death sentence.

“They used to bury them in the ground with their head out. Then the used to put yoghurt on their face and set wild dogs on them.” Viceroy’s wife told Viceroy that Sardar Labh Singh’s death sentence should be converted into life imprisonment.

From 1905 – 1919, Sardar Labh Singh was imprisoned at Port Blair jail (Anadam and Nicobar Island).

Sardar Labh Singh had one son; Sardar Sadhu Singh that was brought up in a Central Khalsa Orphanage; Putli with Udham singh and his brother Sandhu singh at Ghar Yateem Khana, Amritsar.

Shaheed Udham Singh and Sardar Sadhu Singh both occupied the same room in the orphanage. They both used to continually make plans about how to save their country from the British.

Between 1914 – 1918 the British had won the 1st World War and due to the courageous win they decided to free all the political prisoners that were originally sentenced to life imprisonment (Kala Paani Sazaa). ¬¬¬¬¬

On 8th August 1922, the Guru Ka Bagh protest started. Sardar Labh Singh was in the first group that went. They had been beaten by the English and then they were arrested. Where they charge 50 rupees and 6 months Central Amritsar jail (F.I.R 1288).

After this in Lahore there was a gurdwara by the name of Bhai Taru Singh where there was a well that had the skulls of several Sikhs in it. Then this well was cleaned and then the building of this gurdwara was constructed. On the Ravi River shore another gurdwara was built by the name of Harsar gurdwara for the people so that their ancestors ashes can be taken their and people can stay. Where Bapu Labh Singh left this world.
