Avatar or avatĝra (Devanagari अवतार, Sanskrit for "descent" [viz., from heaven to earth]) refers to a deliberate descent of a deity from heaven to earth, or a descent of the Supreme Being (i.e., Vishnu for Vaishnavites) and from Sukhsagar to Bhavsagar(For Sikhs) and is mostly translated into English as "incarnation", but more accurately as "appearance" or "manifestation".
There are two types of Philosphy related to Avtaar, in Adi Guru Granth Sahib:
- Every Being is Avtar
- People who did Outstanding achievements.
