Amritsar is one of the most Sikh districts of Punjab. Of the total population of 3,096,077, 2,383,575 are Sikhs (76.99%), 648,284 are Hindus (20.9%), 51,948 are Christians (1.7%) and 7,171 are Muslims (0.23%).
