Sorry veerji,
The article was not intended to be written "cleverly".
In addition veerji, you have misinterpreted Prof. Darshan Singh's views and character, immensely. It gives no one the right to judge someone especially if there aren't any facts to support it. You don't know half the story between the actual discussions between Prof. Darshan Singh (when he was Jathedar of Akal Takhat) and Harbhajan Singh ji.
As well, Prof. Darshan Singh was Jathedar of Akat Takhat, and he still follows Maryada as he use to, he from all people respects Akal Takhat than you, me or Sikhiwiki - I know who he is, which is why I can say this.
To be more precise veerji, Akal Takhat is a sidanth (an ideal), not a bunch of Jathedar's, Sikhi was never based on a set few to make decisions, it was always out in the open, in front of the Sangat.
Thank you ji.

Power of Khalsa 2

Veer ji,

Excellent video and brilliant performance; as always it is a matter of education and proper presentation; to a certain extent the fault lies with us as we do not give proper presentation of our history and to a lesser extent the education system in India. These gifts from the Gurus need to be explained in a humble and sensible manner and soon the whole world will want to embrace them.

Many thanks to bringing this to my attention; unbelievable speed and daring acts; Waheguru bakshish karan on this jatha.

PS: I have archived your messages; I hope this is OK. Hari Singhtalk 12:30, 29 August 2010 (EDT)

Thx

Veer ji, enjoyed the link very much, truly entertaining and amazing talent. Allenwalla 03:02, 30 August 2010 (EDT)

Dhanawad

Bhai Sahib ji, Sikhs around the world must, along with many others, really be enjoying this. Thanks for taking the time to keep me up.

Rab Rakha, Allenwalla 18:53, 19 September 2010 (EDT)

Never have I wish I could speak or understand what the judges had to say, if you hear of a video with sub titles in english please let me know. Who were the elder Sardars who gave the judges the framed photos of, i assume, imagined images of the 10 Gurus over the Harmandar Sahib.

Third performance was a Killer performance

Veer ji,

Indeed, an action packed show; full of wonderful talent and highly precise, fast and stunning moves - Well done Bir Khalsa Group! Also amazing comment by Sajid about the Khalsa. May Guru grant them perpetual chardikala and kaamjabee! Thanks for the link and message. Guru bhalee karan, Hari Singhtalk 09:36, 20 September 2010 (EDT)

gangu

Sardarji, are the last two sentences from the Mahan Kosh? I have read the english version (finding every mention of gangu, ganguli, ect.) by The University of Patiala and cannot find you quoted passage. Could you list your reference. Where can i find the book? I have the panjabi (gurmukhi) version, but reading it is a daunting task.

Please could you add the Gurmukhi, as well?

Prof. Darshan Singh Khalsa

Veer ji, Sat Sri Akal

Template of letter provided by professor

Many thanks for your kind message. I have read with fond reflection and with great interest what you have written and I am most grateful to you.

Veer ji, however, I am surprised that you called me a "..damn follower of Prof. Darshan Singh Khalsa". I would humbly request you to look at my contribution on this site and see how much time I spend on "the Guru's message" and compare that with the time I spend on the professor.

I think that will answer your question. Also as Gurmukh I am surprised by the choice of the word "damn" to refer to me; anyway Veer ji' that is your prerogative but I desperately hope my Lord thinks otherwise! otherwise I am in trouble!

Anyway, turning to the point that you make, I think we need to give a balanced view of the situation and not give just one side of the issue. What we have here is politics going on; there is no gurmat on either side and so I do not want to spent a lot of time on what I consider to be a useless exercise. The behaviour of each party is a disgrace to anyone who calls themselves a Sikh of the Guru; this fiasco has brought disgrace to the panth and it hurts me that the Takhat jathedars could behave in such a disturbing manner.

Considering that the professor was a jathedar of Akal Takhat, I would have thought that they would make sure that no disgrace came to the panth; it is delicate matter and needs to be treated as such. Have you ever seen the present Pope denigrate his predecessor? I think the leaders in Punjab should learn about diplomacy from the wide world.

How would you feel if Guru Gobind Singh criticised Guru Hargobind? - It would never happen - That shows how wise the Gurus were and how our leaders who are very keen to taken over the "seats" left by our Gurus but do not even understand the ABC of Guru marg! These leaders do not take the time to learn the path of our Gurus. It like a Pind da farmer becoming the President without learning anything about running a country!

I have stated my position before - Guru Granth Sahib ONLY is the Guru and I can give a lot of time to discussing this but everything else is not as important as the Guru. So please let us not spent any more time on this ugly politics while there is so much good work to do in the Guru's path.

To understand both sides of the argument please read this letter that the professor has asked the sangat to write. I agree with the point being made. Also read the other side of the controversy here - http://www.dasamgranthexposed.com/Prof.htm

Veer ji, Do you think it right to treat the Dasam Granth as our Guru? Why should the Dasam Granth be given the same treatment as our Guru? Where did any Guru give this permission to treat Dasam Granth in the same way as Guru Granth Sahib?

Please consider these in depth and please revert back and we can see how we move forward. Raab Rakha and kindest regards, Hari Singhtalk 23:56, 16 October 2010 (EDT)

A very sad day

Bhai Sahib ji, I am sure it matters little what I think, but I am terribly saddened to see the use of the word you have written today. I used that word for the first time when I was 20 years old, the first time I ever used a so called swear word, it bothers me greatly to see you of all people and on this site of all places, use such language. I asked that the page be locked, as a fairly neutral observer it seemed that the bickering was nothing more than petty politics, so please blame me.

Unfortunately I cannot read the letter you have posted in Gurmukhi, for the moment it feels as if the time I have dedicated to this site has been a waste, speaking of men (Sikhs of all people) being followers of men rather than VahiGuru. Sad! Allenwalla 00:52, 17 October 2010 (EDT)

Veerji

Dear Veerji,

You are entitled to your opinion's and judgement's. But being a Sikh of the Guru, you must understand we are all learning to know what is right or wrong. A fellow's opinion of Prof. Darshan Singh, Dasam Granth, etc. should only be for the purpose of knowledge. Not knowing the whole story inside-out it is not anyone's place to cast judgement's on anyone else.

We might be wrong in our opinion's of these controversial topic's, but we are still Sikh's of the Guru - as you are. Setting aside those differences we can still work together as Sikh's to educate ourselves further.

My view on such controversial matter's is to limit the amount of emotion that one exhibit's towards one side or the other, because one day, one's opinion might turn out to be wrong, based on the facts that are obtained. Until then, it's best to just gather knowledge from all sides.

I hope you the best.. --ਇਕਾ ਬਾਣੀ ਇਕ੝ ਗ੝ਰ੝ ਇਕੋ ਸਬਦ੝ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ (eikaa baanee eik gur eiko sabadh veechaar.) 05:13, 21 October 2010 (EDT)
