Going by this TRUTH of that time & close phonatic association of the Gurbani word 'murat',with that in use even today (''moorti pooja, moorti sthapan etc''), it may not be wrong for us to understand the meaning of 'murat' as 'IDOL' '''ALSO''' (depending upon the context & theme of the expression , of course). | |||

Socio-Politically Nanak Sahib and Gurus there after had one of the major social issue 'IDOL worship' to handle.
Going by this TRUTH of that time & close phonatic association of the Gurbani word 'murat',with that in use even today (moorti pooja, moorti sthapan etc), it may not be wrong for us to understand the meaning of 'murat' as 'IDOL' ALSO (depending upon the context & theme of the expression , of course).
