Sikh teaches primary pupils about his culture 28 January 2009 by Nick Egan

Children were given a religious education lesson with a difference when their class was taken by Roop Singh, a Sikh. Mr Singh, of Leeds, taught the Year 5 and 6 pupils at Triangle Primary School about his parents' life in India, explained the reason for his turban and more about his culture.

Assistant head, Esther Bottomley, talked of the importance of not just learning from books. She said: "It's good to meet people from a different culture."
