None of the Sikh Gurus allowed any artist of the time to draw, paint or sculpt them, hence there are no drawings, paintings or sculptures that could accurately depict their ''rup'' (form).
 
Photography was not invented until many years after their time on earth. The many paintings and drawings in homes and Sikh establishments around the world are images from the minds of artists; no one  has any idea of what any Sikh Gurus looked like.
 
Guru Gobind Singh Ji passed the Guruship on to the Guru Granth Sahib as a guide for all Sikhs. Does the Granth have anything to say about Images or Sculpture?

To a man each of the Dasam Nanaks never allowed any artist or engraver of the time, to engrave, paint or sculpt their physical or Human rup (form).


The SGPC issued an order to remove all photos from SGPC-linked gurdwaras and all other gurdwaras. Many gurdwaras continue to have depictions of the Gurus.

Remove these pictures and place gurbani in place of it, before you eyes. When you wake up in morning your eyes will face gurbani first you will get confidence and start the day before bowing to that gurbani instead of photos.

Photos, Pictures, Sceneries or Statues of the 10 Human Gurus and other revered personalities are not to be worshipped within Sikhi and these are totally rejected for that purpose.
