Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi Belongs to village Khokhar Faujian of Distt. Gurdaspur but he is born and bought up in Jalandhar Only. Gurpreet sought admission in Doaba College Jalandhar in B.A. Part I in year 1990 and hereby, enrolled to Guru Nanak Dev University. His Dominant artistic inclination right from childhood took charge in the very first year in Guru Nanak Dev Youth Festival and he was adjudged best actor in Darama and best Mono actor and likewise right upto 1993 he was undisputed best actor of G.N.D.U. and all india inter University Youth Festival. And after a long period, due to his superb ness as an actor an remarkable contribution as a team member G.N.D.U. was able to grab "Theatre' Trophy in the all India inter University Youth Festival . Competition held at Kamraj University Madurai (Tamilnadu) in year 1991,During his studies he has been a student member of youth welfare Advisory committee of G.N.D.U. Amritsar.
In the meantime, apart from his association with the theatre he was fully associated with the theater activities outside the university. During this period he worked with the renowned theatre personalities like Shri Gursharan Singh and Shri Sardarjeet Bawa. And he himself put in motion a theater group named Rehnuma Club with association of up growing Youth artist.
Simultaneously Gurpreet worked on Television also. He got his popular name, Ghuggi from famous Punjabi Variety show. “Ronak Mela” under the partnership of Balwinder Bicky alias Chacha Ronki Ram. And His Character as “GHUGGI” in this veriety show become so popular that he is known as “GHUGGI” in the masses insteat of his name Gurpreet.
Due of his inclination toward comedy and his successful venture in his satirical and funny comedy he become front liner comedian of Punjab. Besides his dream success in comedy when we see his demanding role in genuine work then comes in the mind his serials like: Daldal, Naseehat, Udeek, Lori, Rishtey, Champion and Parchavein. His Character as ‘Bulara’ in the famous T.V. serial Parchavein was highly appreciated and applauded
His. T.V. show “GHUGGI EXPRESS” on Alpha T.V. Punjabi and “GHUGGI ON LNE” on MH1 is running successfully.
Apart from his acting he has been a popular anchor of T.V. Varieties show and live shows on Jalandhar Doordarshan, E.T.C Punjabi, Alfa T.V. Punjabi, Balle-Balle Channel and other Channels
He has given seven Audio Cassettes in Market, Which have been released by the big companies like T-Series and Tips. In these cassettes where Gurpreet has offered to make people free from stress and worries, he also satires on social evil’s an ir-responsible establishment as well.
He has rendered his services to All India Radio as an announcer and as an actor.
