When a Sikh gets baptised, he or she is strictly required to refrain from the following actions:
- 1. Cutting or trimming of hair,
- 2. Fornication or adultery,
- 3. Eating of meat or flesh of animal slaughtered in a slow and painful manner,
- 4. Use of tobacco.
