BIRTH AND FAMILY BACKGROUND

Sardar Paramjit Singh was born on 01.02.1963 at the village JANDIALI Post Office JAMSHER KHAS in Tehsil and District JALANDHAR, PUNJAB, INDIA. He belongs to Jat Sikh family and his Genealogy is NAHAL. His father S. Gurdev Singh is a farmer and his mother Parkash Kaur was a house-wife. He has one brother named Hardial Singh who is elder to him and two sisters Jagdish Kaur who is the eldest and Hardial Kaur who is the youngest. His grandfather Late S. Pakhar Singh, grandmother Late Mrs. Chanan Kaur, who migrated to United Kingdom in 1960’s had got the citizenship of United Kingdom and died there in 2009 and in 2003 respectively. His two uncles Piara Singh, Sohan Singh and maternal aunt (sister of father) Mrs. Gurdev Kaur all of them had migrated to United Kingdom in 1960’s and are permanent residents and citizens of United Kingdom who live there along with their families.

He is also known as AMARJEET SINGH in his village that’s why earlier his penname was AMARJEET SINGH PARAMJIT which was mistook by his readers that Amarjeet Singh Paramjit are two persons not a single person. Many queries were raised by the readers regarding that. But now he has decided to keep his penname as SARDAR PARAMJIT SINGH.

EDUCATION

He was admitted to Government Primary School, at his village JANDIALI to get primary education and spent two or three years there. Then he was admitted to Premier Model School at JAMSHER KHAS and passed primary class from there. After that he joined Janata Co-educational High School, PHOLRIWALA and passed middle class from there.

DEATH OF MOTHER

On 4th JULY 1977 he was deeply shocked at the untimely death of his mother who was cremated the next day on 5th of JULY 1977 and that period remained unforgettable throughout his life. That event made his mind miserable and depressed. He began to write poems. He wrote some novels at very young age.

HIGHER EDUCATION

He joined Government High school, JAMSHER KHAS and passed Matriculation examination in the first division in the year of 1979. After school education he joined D.A.V. College, JALANDHAR in order to attain higher education. He spent six years at D.A.V.College. In 1980 he passed Prep. Exams from the college and in 1983 he got B.A. Degree in Arts from that college. He got Post Graduate Degree in English in 1985 from the same college. During his college life he had participated in some programmes at Doordarshan Kendra (TV station) and All India Radio JALANDHAR and attended camps of National Service Scheme and won prize each year. In 1990 he passed ZDAF (Zertifikat Deutsch Als Fremdsprache i.e. Certificate in German Language as a Foreign Language) from Goethe Institute (Max Mueller Bhavan) New Delhi as a private candidate. He attended certificate course in agriculture from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana through correspondence course. He attended Sikh Missionary Course from Sikh Missionary College, Ludhiana. In 1992 he passed M.A. in Punjabi as a private Candidate from Punjabi University Patiala. In 1993 he passed B.ED from Government College of Education, Jalandhar. In 1998 he passed M.A. in History from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, as a private candidate. He had learnt some foreign languages and these are French, Spanish and Arabic. He was very fluent in German and in Arabic.

ESTABLISHMENT OF PUBLICATIONS

In 1993 he established AMARJEET SINGH PARAMJIT PUBLICATIONS and its ISBN (International Standard Book Numbering) No. is 81-900254.

FAMILY LIFE

He got married on 21 Nov 1992 with Kuldip Kaur daughter of Late Sardar Chain Singh and Late Sardarni Harbans Kaur residents of village CHITTI, Distt. JALANDHAR. On 17 Feb 1994 daughter Amandeep Kaur was born and on 11 JAN 1998 his son PARAMVIR SINGH was born. At present his daughter is a student of Chemical Engineering and his son is a school student.

AS A Writer:- In 1990’s he wrote many articles which were published from time to time in newspapers i.e. Daily Ajit, Akali Patrika, Aj Di Awaaz. He wrote many poems in German which were published from time to time in Kultuergespraech (The Cultural Dialogue) a magazine published by Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College, Udupi, Karnataka. He wrote some novels in Punjabi, a few of them were published some of these are still unpublished. He wrote annotations of Gurbani. Some of these were published and some of these are unpublished. He wrote a book of poems “WHO TOLD YOU AND OTHER POEMS” in English. He wrote a book of poems “ICH WILL WERDEN” in German. He had translated almost all the books of History for school and college students of all classes from Punjabi to English published by Raj Publishers Jalandhar.
