The Sikh Directory
The Sikh Directory is a directory published in the UK which contains useful information about Sikhs in the UK. It began life in August 2004 as a concept by Mr Navdeep Singh Bansal, its 36 year old founder and publisher. Navdeep Singh has over twenty years of experience within the sales industry. He has proven successful and is accomplished in property, recruitment, media and publishing sales.
History
The first edition of the directory was published in February 2006 and is updated and published annually. The Sikh Directory is currently the UK's largest and most comprehensive Sikh business directory in the UK. It is an established and trusted brand which stimulates community networking and connects buyers and sellers.
This is the first time that the majority of the thousands of Sikh businesses and organisations based in the UK are able to have true visibility of one another. It is also a tribute to the skills, achievements and successes of the Sikh community in the UK and also teaches people about the Sikh Dharam.
Contribution to Sikh community
All year round 'The Sikh Directory' is carrying out marketing campaigns and promotions in order to further enhance the image of our clients and Sikhi in general. The Sikh Directory is in the unique position of being able to reach a massive audience, both here in the UK and internationally, as it is heavily promoted on key ethnic TV stations, newspapers, radio stations, community websites, magazines and vehicles to help generate usage and exposure for advertisers.
Our main objectives are to unite the Sikh community, to help promote and magnify the competitiveness and breadth of Sikh Businesses to Sikhs throughout the world.
The Sikh Directory is distributed FREE OF CHARGE throughout every Gurudwara in the UK, every Sikh event and worldwide through our online subscription system ( www.thesikhdirectory.co.uk).
To date the Sikh community has given excellent feedback and are fully behind this venture some stating its already an everyday tool for Sikhs in the UK.
