Shaheedan e Wafa

Shaheedan-e-Wafa is a great poetic work on the martyrdom of young sahibzadey of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. It was written by Jogi Allah Yaar Khan, a Muslim sufi poet around the starting of 20th century.

Baba Veer Singh Overseer of Chamkaur made a committee of prominent persons and requested Jogi Allah Yaar Khan, who was a prominent sufi shayar of those times. He was known to be impressed with Sikhi, especially the martyrdom of Sahibzadeys. He wrote this work with great passion and respect and earned blessings of the Guru.

He himself used to sing Shaheedan-e-Wafa on different occasions at Chamkaur Sahib, Nankana Sahib, Sirhind etc during Jor-Melas. He moved the crowds with his oratory skills.
