Ida Pingula Sukhmana
Ida, Pingula, and Sukhmana are spiritual concepts and one of the subjects touched by Gurbani in which Gurbani cuts the Yogic range of vision on these three concepts and etymologicals. These are related to inner soul. Yogics believe that Dasam Dwaar is somewhere in brain but in Gurmat it is in heart of the person. So Ida, Pingula, and Sukhmana are spiritual concepts, not physical.

- Sukhmana : ਨੱਕ ਦੇ ਉਪਰਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਾੜੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਪਰਾਣਾਯਾਮ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਾਣ ਟਿਕਾਈਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੀ ਨਾੜੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਪਰਾਣਾਯਾਮ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਆਸ ਟਿਕਾਈਦੇ ਹਨ। ਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕਲਪੀ ਹੋਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਾੜੀ, ਜੋ ਨੱਕ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੰਗਰੋੜ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਦਿਮਾਗ ਤੀਕ ਪਚਦੀ ਹੈ. ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਿੰਗਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਇੜਾ ਹੈ. ਇਹ ਨਾੜੀ ਚੰਦਰਮਾ, ਸੂਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਨਿ ਰੂਪਾ ਹੈ. ਜਦ ਅਭਯਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਾਣ ਚਲਾਈਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਦ ਅਨਹਤ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸਣੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਪਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੰਦੀ ਹੈ. ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਉਂ ਬਰਹਮਮਾਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਪਥ ਭੀ ਹੈ.
- Pingula: The channel on the right side. ਹਠ ਯੋਗ ਅਨਸਾਰ ਤਿੰਨ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਨਾੜੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ।
- Irha or Ida:The channel on the left side. ਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਨੀ ਹੋਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਾੜੀ, ਜੋ ਖੱਬੀ ਨਾਸਿਕਾ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੰਗਰੋੜ ਦੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹੰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਦਿਮਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੰਚਦੀ ਹੈ. ਇਸ ਨਾੜੀ ਦਆਰਾ ਯੋਗੀ ਪਰਾਣਾਯਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ. ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਉਂ ਚੰਦਰਨਾੜੀ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਚੰਦਰਮਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ.
Gurmat Viewpoint
The above line says that it's one who solve the riddle of Irha, Pingla, and Sukhmana, by grace of god. Now the question is what's to solve in these nerves given by Yogics? According to the Dasam Dwaar, it is straightaway in the brain, but it's not there as per Gurbani, as Gurbani says ""Tirkuti Chutey Dasam Dwar Khuley"", when a person leaves Tirkuti, the Dasam Dwar opens, i.e when a person leaves the mind, then the Dasam Dwar opens.
The energy channels of the Ida, Pingala and Shushmanaa: these three dwell in one place.
Now these three all dwell at one place, but in the Yogic mindset, these three are seperate channels which meet at one place, while in Gurbani, it dwells at one place.
So these two are enough to cut the vision of Yogics. These concepts do not comply with Gurmat. The question is just what the Ida, Pingula, and Sukhmana in Gurmat is. This can be understood by a thorough understanding of Gumat.
The intuitive consciousness, intellect, understanding of the mind (attention) and brain are shaped there.
