Three Gurudwaras around Nanaksar Sahib

Sanctified by the visits of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Har Gobind Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji the village of Takhtupura has Separate Shrines dedicated to each one of them which are located around the beautiful Sarovar Nanaksar.

  • Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Pehli: This Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Pehli is on the bank of Nanaksar Sarovar, commemorates the visit of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Guruji came to this village along with Bhai Mardana and Bhai Bala. Guruji had a dialogue with Sidha Yogis who lived on a nearby mound. In the year 1975 Sant Darbara Singh of Lapon constructed the main Gurdwara with the help of the devotees on the site of an old mud hut. The new six-storey edifice is a huge marble-floored hall, with the sanctum at the far end.
  • Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevin: Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevin marks the site of the camp where Guru Hargobind Ji stayed when he came after winning the battle of Mehraj in the year 1634 A.D. Bhai Jakko, a local villager, served Guruji with devotion and dedication. Guruji blessed him. In the year 1921 Sant Sunder Singh Bhindrawale constructed the present Gurdwara building, which is located close to Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Pehli.
  • Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Dasvin: Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Dasvin located on the eastern side of the Nanaksar Sarovar is associated with Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guruji came to Takhtupura on his way from Chakar to Dina in December 1705 A.D. He is said to have bathed in the Sarovar. Sant Darbara Singh of Lapon had this building constructed in the year 1962.

Annual Events


The important annual events here are the Prakash divas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Hargobind Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Shahidi Divas of Guru Arjan Dev Ji. In addition every year Jor Mela is organized in a big way from 13th January to17th January, which attracts sangat from all over.

Location


Gurdwara Nanaksar Sahib is situated in village Takhtupura. It is 32 km southeast of Moga city. The Gurdwara Sahib is 3 km from the main Moga-Barnala Road between villages Lohara and Bilaspur. It is approachable by road either along Guru Gobind Singh Marg or from Moga via Bagha Purana and Nihal Singhwala or via Lohara on the Moga -Barnala road.
