Basarke Gillan ((31.575°N 74.767°E)) is a small village in Amritsar district, Punjab, India. It is located 13 km (8 miles) south-west of city of Amritsar. This is the village where Guru Amar Das, the third Sikh Guru was born in 1479.

Guru Amar Das (Gurmukhi: ਗ੝ਰੂ ਅਮਰ ਦਾਸ) (Sunday 23 May 1479 - Thursday 16 September 1574) was the third of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism and became Guru on Saturday, 16 April 1552 at the age of 73 following in the footsteps of Sri Guru Angad Dev Sahib ji, who left for his heavenly abode on 29 March 1552 aged 48. Guru Amar Das ji was 73 years old when he became the Sikh Guru.

This sacred village is located off the Amritsar-Atari-Lahore road, which passes at a distance of about 5 km away to the North of the village. The Gurdwara San Sahib is situated at this village. It is also located off the Amritsar-Baba Budha Road to its East and the nearest Railway Station is Verka Junction Railway Station 4 km away. Amritsar International Airport is the nearest airport to this village.
