This Gurdwara is associated with a visit of Guru Tegh Bahadur who stopped at this place while travelling through Ropar, Railon and Nandpurkalar. While resting under the shade of a 'Ber' tree possibly a jhari-booti ka ber' just outside the village, a couple, Mai Mari and her husband Rup Chand, walked by and recognising the Guru asked Guruji to come and bless their house. Mai Mari and her husband served Guruji with great devotion. | |||
On taking leave of the couple Guruji gave an 'edict' to Rup Chand and spoke saying, "that if anybody sees this edict, he shall see me". From here Guruji travelled through Pamor, Bhagrana and Patiala before he proceeded towards Delhi. It is said that the Martyred Guru's child Guru Gobind Rai also stayed here for 2 days on his way to Anandpur Sahib while coming from Patna. | |||

Gurudwara Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib is located in the village of Mukarampur some 15 kms. from the city of Sirhind on the Sirhind - Chandigarh Road.
