| One of the Five Takhats or Seat of Authority of the Sikhs. The Gurdwara at Nanded Maharastra is in remberance of the place where Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs took leave of his earthly body. This is also the place where the Sikh Scriptures, the eternal Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib was enthroned and given the Guruship in 1708. Like many historical Gurdwara's in India and Pakistan, this Gurdwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
