| ==Setup a new page in the Main namespace==
| |
| Dear Youngjun Jung,
| |
|
| |
| Many thanks for translating part of the article page on Sikhism. I have setup a new page in the Main namespace here - 시희굝. I hope you can check to see if this page is correct; I will be most grateful for your help. Guru's blessings and kind regards, Hari Singhtalk 21:08, 14 May 2011 (EDT)
| |
|
| |
| == Thank you for helping with the translation ==
| |
|
| |
| Dear Youngjun Jung,
| |
|
| |
| SSA
| |
|
| |
| "Sat Sri Akal, Hari Singh Ji! " Is a perfectly correct expression. Thank you.
| |
|
| |
| It is very kind of you to make the effort to translate the original article - It will help other people who cannot read English to better understand the message of Guru Nanak. It is also appreciated when you said "....because Sikhism is the most attractive religion to me among what I've ever studied". Again, thank you very much. Obviously, I agree with you.

|
| |
| I do not know if you are aware that you can get an automatic translation by doing the following:
| |
|
| |
| * 1. Click on the on the right hand sidebar, <br><br>
| |
| *2 Then select "Korean" and you will get an automatic translation of the page. <br>
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
| Do you know about this?
| |
|
| |
| I am told that the translation is not very good. However, it is the best we have at present until someone like you can translate some of the main pages from English.
| |
|
| |
| Whenever you have the time, please do a little bit of translation on your user page if you like and I will transfer to the page on Sikhism - 시희굝. Anything that you do will be much appreciated as it will be a historic first! It will be the first time that the work of the great spiritual Guru has been translated into Korean.
| |
|
| |
| Good luck with your learning about Sikhism. When the time is right, I am sure you will become a Sikh and I am sure you will enjoy your trip to Harmandar Sahib :) - it will be magical!
| |
|
| |
| Many thanks again and all the Guru's blessings to you. Enjoy your life in Thakshin Korea. Kind regards, Hari Singhtalk 12:30, 15 May 2011 (EDT)

| == A few changes to user page. I hope you don't mind? ==
| |
|
| |
| Dear Ram Singh Jung, SSA
| |
|
| |
| That's a much easier name for me to say and remember; your real name is not too difficult but it will take a few more days to learn properly.
| |
|
| |
| Veer (brother) ji, I liked the text on your user page - It was good, but I have made a few changes. Hopefully it makes it a bit more easier to follow. I hope you don't mind.
| |
|
| |
| Also, although I don't use facebook a lot, I have clicked you as a friend. I hope you will do the same. However, please contact me through SikhiWiki.

| ==Miracles ==
| |
| Dear Ram Singh Jung, SSA
| |
|
| |
| Many thanks for your kind and touching greetings; may the Lord bless you always with tranquillity and contentment.
| |
|
| |
| No, this not a rude question at all. I am happy to answer this question. However, I am not sure that I understand exactly what you mean by "supernatural situations"; I hope it means "miracles"
| |
|
| |
| There are a few Sakhis (historic stories) about Guru Nanak which appears as if a miracle had happened. The best one that I can think of is the one associated with Panja Sahib in Pakistan. I hope this is what you mean by "supernatural situations". Here the Guru is said to have stopped a large rock from running over him. There is a hand imprint (palm mark) which can be seen even today at this historic site. Please read about it here - Panja Sahib.
| |
|
| |
| So, although miracles do happen, Sikhs are not allowed to use or seek "supernatural powers" as they take you away from reality and from the connection with God. The Guru Granth Sahib tells us this:
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
| So, Sikhs do believe that supernatural powers do exist but that they are of no importance to a person on a spiritual path. Just like martial arts, ability to remember 1000 of numbers, ability to control breath, massive physical strength, etc these are just different skills that a person can acquire. But none of these will take you closer to God! That can only happen by doing good deeds and remembering Him at all times.
| |
|
| |
| I hope this answers your question. If not please do write to me again. Warm regards and the Lord's blessings, Hari Singhtalk 19:50, 6 June 2011 (EDT)

| == Do good deeds, forget miracles! ==

|
| |
| Dear Youngjun ji,
| |
| SSA
| |
|
| |
| Many thanks for your message; I was very pleased to hear from you. I hope life has been good for you and that you are happy and contented with developments in yourself recently.
| |
|
| |
| My younger brother, dedication to the path of God is not easy; its a tough path - so please do not apologise; it is a concept that we all have to deal with everyday and bring strength in our minds to move towards God and Goodness. To become pure in our lives is a constant challenge. I too have this problem and it is always difficult to move in the right direction in life. However, with Guru's blessings, as I have got older, I have managed to find a little time. When I was young - it was bad - although the love was there, there was no time! I understand this situation very clearly!
| |
|
| |
| I know that when we make the effort and get something good done, it brings real internal joy; real true happiness which cannot be taken away. Yes, I understand that. We can only pray so that we have the strength to do the good work of the Guru so that - may be - just one person may read the supreme words of the Guru through our writings!
| |
|
| |
| I pray that all of us, the lovers of the Guru, and contributor here on Sikhiwiki find the time and true motivation to tread on the rightful path; May the Lord give us energy to move in a positive direction and not dissolve ourselves in the world of illusion.
| |
|
| |
| Many thanks again for writing and may all the Lord's blessing be with you. Warm regards, Hari Singhtalk 16:36, 23 June 2011 (EDT)
