Bhai Sahib ji, good to have someone responding from the area. This reminds me of the story of Guru Hargobind and the man-eating lion that attacked Jahangir. Again this is a story I have never read - mostly one reads of his having many good sakars.
Minor error to correct:
In the line below - a typo has Guru ji, using his scared (fearful hands - not the respectful superlative intended -- sacred! You may want to correct that. Great story.
He laid the foundation of this holy city with his own scared hands and named it Poan-tikka, which is known as Paonta Sahib today. He fought and won his first battle against the hill kings (Biadhar Raja) here in Paonta Sahib.
Could you also add a translation (Here) for Poan-tikka ________________.

The translation to english of his words to the lion were also helpful. I also think an article here would be useful, if time permits I will take you up on your suggestion.
