Bhai Tiratha A Sabharval Khatri, was a prominent Sikh of the time of Guru Ram Das mentioned by Bhai Gurdas in his Varan, XI. 17. As he first came to visit the Guru, he begged to be instructed in the right path. Guru Ram Das said, "There is no virtue higher than truth and no vice worse than a lie. Shun falsehood. Be truthful in word as well as in thought." Bhai Tiratha followed the Guru's precept and became a devoted Sikh.
