my self is AMIT CHOUDHRY Im basically khara jatt from hapur distt gaziabad, today i join this site due to gain some knowledge abt khara surname ,

last day i was sat with my uncle( TAU JI) With him talking at our sirname khara, during our conversation he told me that we r basically from pakistan,then live patiyala. i was surprized to hear this, coz from 5th genration we all are living in gaziabad distt, here are around 600 people live in two villages, few of them r farmers , and rest of all doing job or i another bissnes but mostly r in army , or delhi police,

no one is sardar , and no wear turban but all are agree that thay r punjabi jatt.

so if anyone from patiyala and intrested to share his /her knowledge on this plz reply me or mail me at KHRA 2006@GMAIL.COM

SSA, welcome , i am not from Patiala or the divided Punjab which is now mostly now in Paak with its former capital.

You speak punjabi (read Gurumukhi?) don't consider yourself a Sikh and probably don't wear a Kara. You are wanting to know the source of the name Khara or khra? (K HAR A / KHA RA / Ka Har i) do you know the source of the name Choudhry? or Amit / Am (r) it? Your father's elder brother can't help? Interesting.

There are several stories here on Jats many on Patiala and its history. If i can help let me know.
