In Guru Granth Sahib, this term came as single and in blend form:

  • Raghu (ਰਘ੝) * Raghuraye (ਰਘ੝ਰਾਇਓ), contains two morphemes, Raghu + Raye, Raye means King
  • Raghupati (ਰਘ੝ਪਤਿ), contains two morphemes, Raghu + Pati, Pati means Husband
  • Raghunath(ਰਘ੝ਨਾਥ), contains two morphemes, Raghu + Nath, Nath means Lord
  • Raghuvansu (ਰਘ੝ਵੰਸ੝), contains two morphemes, Raghu + Vansh, Vansh means Family Dynasity
  • Raghurayi (ਰਘ੝ਰਾਈ), contains two morphemes, Raghu + Rayi.

Questions 1: Is Raghunath about Lord Rama?

In Hindu Philosophy, Lord Rama came in Treta Yuga but Prehlad was devotee of Sata Yuga. NarSingham was one who saved Prehlad from Hrinyakashipu tyranny. This gives direct sense not using Raguraya for Lord Rama of Treta Yuga. Raguraya means the lord of Light. Asa Raam in Virast - E - Khalsa commented that Rama is worshipped in Guru Granth Sahib on base of word Raghu which is totally wrong as per Gurmat and Scholars too.

The poor mortal being does not have the strength to conquer it; what should I do now, O Lord? ||1||
