Taken from Facebook. Avtar is one of concept of Hinduism. There are many Brahma Avtars, Vishnu Avtars and Shiva Avtars. Also there are Sub Avtars like Avtars of Avtars. In General, Brahmins gave degree to people who bring some revolution to society in Masses or help in spreading Dharma.
Guru Gobind Singh explained in Dasam Granth that these Avtars were also eaten up by Kaal(Supreme Power). As Gurbani says, ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥ ਪੰਨਾ ੨੬੨, In these quotes Narsingha, Bavan, Machu, Varha, Ram, Krishan, Buddha, Dev(Arihantdev) etc. should not be considered as Supreme. Supreme is just Akaal (Mahakaal).
