SSA, a request for help “phahe kate mite gavan fatih bhai mani jit

the noose of Yama hath been cleft, transmigration hath ceased and, with the conquest of the self, true victory hath been achieved”

it seems to me that the translation here is much deeper/longer than the phrase translated. i see no reference to Yama in the Gurmuki phrase.

what is the word Gavan - ___________________

what does "phahe kate mite gavan fatih bhai mani jit" literally translate as?

mite= mani= jewel? jit= victory? i thought bhai means brother or first? Thanks for any helpAllenwalla 21:56, 28 November 2007 (MST)
