Lt. Gen. Bikram Singh, G O C, XV Corps

having a great record in defending Ladakh and Chushul was died in a helicoptor air crash with four more Generals of of Indian Army on 22 Nov 1963 near Poonch city in the 2.5 Km radius of ceasefire.

In the memory of this Great Sikh General a chowk of Jammu city has been named after him. A statue has also been erected in the middle of this chowk by the Sikh Sangat of Jammu. Bikram Cowk is the biggest chowk of Jammu city. Every year Akhand path of Guru Granth Sahib ji is performed in this chowk on martyr's day by Sikh Sangat. A Gurdwara has been built in his memory in a nearby Sikh Locality of Bikram Chowk.

In Poonch City there is a Shahid Samarak on the bank of Drungli river where the helicopter air was crashed,which is a main tourist attraction for visitors.
