The first Gurdwara in Leicester was a rented hall in Saint Saviours Road. Due to falling out between the Sangat forming the Ramgharia and Guru Nank Gurdwara.

Guru Nnak gurdwara is the oldest in Leicester. It was founded in the 1960's by Sikh labourers who worked in the foundries of Leicester. They had come from Punjab in the 1960. It was founded on New Walk. It moved to Holy Bones in the late 1990.

Guru Teg Bahadar was founded by Sikh labourers who worked in factories in the late 70's in the village of Evington. It is the biggest Gurdwara in Leicester.

Guru Amardas was founded by the ex-comittee members of Guru Teg Bahadar and Guru Nanak Gurdwara in 1992. It is near to Leicester University. built in aconverted Protestant church.

Ramgharia Gurdwara was founded by somed ex-members of the Saint Saviours Road Gurdwara.
