Sikhiwiki Article under Construction. (Lucky 14:19, 12 September 2010 (EDT))

Hemkunt is a Term of Divine Wisdom which have Spiritual Meanings explained in Guru Granth Sahib. The Term also used in Dasam Granth, which is practically and technically not associated with Lokpal Valley of Uttarakhand.

Hemkunt is made of two words, Hem and Kunt. Hem means "Ice", Kunt means "Kund,Pond". So the word itself means The Pond/Kund of Ice.

Generally it is interpreted as the place where 6 months Ice remain in an area and after 6 months it converted into water which means Hemkunt turns JallKunt but Hemkunt is a Sarabkali term.
