The capital of Azerbaijan, formerly a part of the Russian Empire. It is believed that Guru Nanak Sahib visited this town during his visit of Mecca (Saudi Arabia) and Baghdad (Iraq). Gurdwara Guru Nanak Sahib had been built in the memory of Guru Sahib. In Baku, there was another Gurdwara built by Karta Ram Udasi
