Gurudwara Joti Saroop

Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup Sahib is situated in the city of Fatehgarh Sahib, Sirhind. It is half a kilometer away from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib on Chandigarh Road. Mata Gujri Ji, [[Sahibzada Zorawar Singh[[ and Sahibzada Fateh Singh were handed over to Wazir Khan the Viceroy of Sirhind by Gangu Ram. Here false charges were made, and ultimately they were tried. The young sahibzadas could not be lured to be converted into Islam by Wazir Khan. They were entombed alive in a brick wall. After the execution, a rich devotee of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Todar Mal, desired to prevail upon the Viceroy, but it was too late, as the act had already been committed.

He went to Mata Gujri Ji and conveyed to her the sad news. Mata Gujri Ji collapsed on the spot and left for her heavenly abode. Todar Mal purchased the land for performing the last rites of Mata Ji and Sahibzadas, by paying golden coins equal to cover the land and had the cremation performed at this place. Karsewa has been completed of Main Building, Sarovar Sahib and Darshini Deodi under the supervision of Baba Harbans Singh Ji of Delhi. Karsewa of Langar Hall is likely to be undertaken to enhance its capacity.
