Four cardinal sins

When a Sikh gets baptised, he or she is strictly required to refrain from the following actions:

  • 1. Cutting or trimming of any hair,
  • 2. Fornication or adultery,
  • 3. Eating of meat or flesh of an animal slaughtered in a slow and painful manner, either Kosher or Halaal.
  • 4. Any use of any tobacco product.
