Dhanna Singh Malwai a historic general of the Khalsa army under Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He was the father of of Nichhatar Singh who was in command of Michni Fort on the banks of the river Kabul. The fort was garrisoned with 300 infantry, 100 risaldari, 10 artillery men with two large bore cannons and two smaller cannons. The fort was part of a network of forts built at the order of Hari Singh Nalwa as part of his efforts to maintain control of the passes along the Afgani border in order hold Pesawar and end foreign invasions of India and the Punjab.
