Bhai Jivan, the younger son of Bhai Bhagatu (d. 1652), a Sikh reputed for his piety, was a devotee of Guru Har Rai (1630-61). While his elder brother, Gaura, was a warrior and leader of the Siddhu Brars of the area around Bathinda (30"14'N, 74°59'E), Jivan remained in attendance upon Guru Har Rai. He died young. His descendants are settled at Bhuchcho, in Bathinda district, and at Kot Bhai, in Faridkot district of the Punjab.
