Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji came to village Handiyaya in the year 1665 A.D and rested under a grove near a pond. A person came and told GuruJi about a mysterious disease rampant in that area. Guru Ji advised him to have the patient bathed in the pond. He told Guru Ji that the Tanners (Chamars) used to dip their hides in that pond. Guru Ji asked them to ignore. The villager were hesitated and said that the water of the pond was foul. Guru Ji then himself bathed in the pond. Thereafter Villagers brought a patient and bathed him in that pond .The patient felt relieved and cured. Later all the sick villagers took bath in the pond and got cured. The villagers served GuruJi gratefully with devotion during Guru Ji's stay over there .Now a sarovar has been built at the place of pond. Large gathering takes place on Shahidi Divas of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. In addition Shahidi Divas, Amavasya celebration of every month and an annual religious fair is held during the month of January/ February. Accommodation: There are 4-5 rooms with limited facilities in the Gurdwara premises for pilgrims to stay.
